The
scenic beauty of Turkey is well known to those who traveled there on our
August 1999 total solar eclipse tour. The
friendly Turkish people, stunning scenery, great food, and incredibly
rich history make Turkey an "A-list"
destination for any traveler. TravelQuest
International and Sky & Telescope
have taken the very best Turkey has to offer and created three special
journeys to witness the March 29, 2006, total
eclipse of the Sun.
Our grand 12-day Turkey
Eclipse Tour will include Istanbul, the Roman ruins along Turkey’s
Aegean coast, the volcanic "fairy chimneys" of Cappadocia, and the
beautifully preserved ruins in the vicinity of our eclipse-viewing site
along Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast.
For those of you unable
to join this extensive 12-day program, we also offer two shorter 4- and
7-day eclipse packages. Call 800-830-1998 for details.
You can make reservations now
by calling or
PRESS HERE to make them on-line.
We have secured excellent
oceanfront accommodations on the centerline, just outside the
ancient Roman city of Side. Here we will witness the Moon
completely covering the Sun for 3 minutes 45
seconds. Additionally, we have reserved an alternate viewing site amid
magnificent Roman ruins just 4 kilometers from our hotel, a location
that offers a fraction of a second less totality. We will preview our
Side location the day before the eclipse; the choice will be yours!
Space is limited on this
adventure. Don’t be disappointed; join
TravelQuest and Sky & Telescope
associate editor Paul Deans on this amazing
journey. |
