  Day 1 Tue, April 19, 2005
Lima, Peru
      Disembarking ship in the port of Callao, we’ll travel into Lima to visit the historical center including the Plaza Mayor, where the Government Palace, City Hall, the city’s main Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace are located.
    Continuing, we’ll visit San Francisco Monastery and to Casa Solar de Aliaga. Peru’s best preserved colonial mansion, Casa Solar de Aliaga has been continuously occupancy by the same family since 1535. We also visit residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. Providing a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the local beaches. Late afternoon arrival at our Lima hotel.
   
 

   
  Day 2  Wed, April 20, 2005                                                     Breakfast           
Lima
      Today is free to explore Lima on your own. Founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro, the cruel conquistador, Peru’s capital city offers a mix of a rich archaeological heritage and great natural beauty. And with the day yours to explore, you’ll have time to join the natives at the “penas,” bars offering folk and Creole music, and to shop in the open marketplaces and dine at one of the city’s inviting restaurants.
 

         

  Day 3 Thu, April 21                                                     Breakfast/Dinner
Cuzco
 
      Early morning transfer to the  airport for domestic flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco, you’ll be met and transfers to our hotel for welcome coca tea and registration. Lunch at hotel and afternoon city tour including the Loreto alley – Cuzco’s Old Town, and home to the remarkable Inca walls. After visiting the Santo Domingo Monastery - the legendary Koricancha- and the Cathedral at the Plaza de Armas, drive out of town and visit the
impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. This evening join us for Folkloric dance revue at one of our favorite local restaurants.
   
  Day 4 Fri, April 22                                            Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner 
Machu Picchu
      Early morning departure to board the 3.5 hour train ride to Machu  Picchu. Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes station, walk to the bus station for the 25-minute ascent to "the Lost City of the Incas".  Our guided tour of the marvelous citadel is an awe-inspiring experience. There will be time to explore the site on your own before lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.  A late afternoon train trip will bring us back to Cuzco.
   
 

   
  Day 5 Sat, April 23                                                                 Breakfast
Cuzco - Home
 
    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flight to Lima to connect to your homeward destination.
