Disembarking ship in the port of Callao, we’ll travel into
Lima to visit the historical center including the Plaza Mayor, where
the Government Palace, City Hall, the city’s main Cathedral and the
Archbishop’s Palace are located.
Continuing, we’ll visit
San Francisco Monastery and to Casa Solar de Aliaga. Peru’s best
preserved colonial mansion, Casa Solar de Aliaga has been
continuously occupancy by the same family since 1535. We also visit

districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. Providing a magnificent view
of the Pacific Ocean and the local beaches. Late afternoon arrival
at our Lima hotel. |

Today
is free to explore Lima on your own. Founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro, the
cruel conquistador, Peru’s capital city offers a mix of a rich archaeological
heritage and great natural beauty. And with the day yours to explore, you’ll
have time to join the natives at the “penas,” bars offering folk and Creole
music, and to shop in the open marketplaces and dine at one of the city’s
inviting restaurants. |
