Stephen James O’Meara
is one of the most keen-eyed astronomical
observers of all time. Known worldwide for his precise illustrations
of celestial objects as seen through the telescope. He is a
contributing editor of Sky
& Telescope,
the world’s leading astronomy magazine. A prolific writer, his most
recent book is the observers’s guide
Deep-Sky Companions: The Caldwell Objects.
A lover of Earth as well as sky,
Steve has trekked the world over to study and photograph active
volcanoes. In 1994 he and his wife Donna, founded Volcano Watch
International, an organization aimed at finding ways to predict deadly
eruptions and to help people in harm’s way. The O’Mearas are residents
of the town of Volcano, on the Big Island of Hawaii. |

$2,410 per person, based on double occupancy. Add $625 for
single occupancy. Deduct $120 per person for triple occupancy. Deduct an
additional $280 per person ($140 per visit) for those who do not wish to
make the two trips to the summit of Mauna Kea. |

A $400 per person advance payment,
along with a completed reservation form, confirms your space. Final
payment is due June 7, 2004.
Deadline to cancel and receive a full
refund, less a $150 per person fee, is June 7, 2004. No refunds will be
made after June 7, 2004. We highly recommend that all travelers obtain
trip medical/cancellation insurance. Application forms will be provided
with initial invoice. |
