February is consistently dry in western Costa Rica.
Daytime temperatures hover in the upper 80s by day, with evenings in the
low 70s — perfect weather for stargazing and astrophotography! Dress is
100% casual — leave your coat and tie at home! Brunch will be served in
the late morning each day, and dinners will be served near sunset. Snacks
and beverages will be available throughout the night for hungry
stargazers. For your convenience, the lodge will accept US dollars in lieu
of Costa Rican colones. Meals are simply prepared and served buffet style,
using local ingredients: fresh vegetables, meats, fish, and rice and bean

| |
After breakfast we’ll depart for San José, stopping en
route for lunch on our own in Sarchí. This artisan village is best known
for its traditional crafts and is the perfect place to buy gifts and
souvenirs. Join us this evening at the hotel for a farewell dinner.

After breakfast we’ll transfer to the airport for flights
home. You may wish to extend your stay in Costa Rica for birding, visiting
