Sedona - Phoenix - Old
Scottsdale - Presentation by Jeff Hester |
|
|
| |
This morning we’ll leave the higher elevations of northern Arizona for a
scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon and the town of Sedona, renowned
for its magnificent, natural red-rock sculptures and pristine national
forest. We’ll arrive back in Phoenix in time
for lunch and a special presentation by astronomer Jeff Hester. Jeff is
a professor at Arizona State University and is responsible for some of
the Hubble Space Telescope’s most spectacular images, including the
“Pillars of Creation” view of the Eagle Nebula (M16). He is also the
lead author of 21st Century Astronomy, a new college textbook
acclaimed for its clear text and superb illustrations. Join us this
evening for a special farewell dinner in Scottsdale.
