Day 5 Friday, November 21

Torres del Paine (Laguna Azul) |

After breakfast, we will depart to the Cascada Paine. These
beautiful waterfalls provide a wonderful photo opportunity.
Continuing on through the Vega del Nandu or swamplands, we will see
thousands of guanacos, a wooly graceful version of llamas.
Upon arrival at the Laguna Azul, we will enjoyan open-pit lamb
barbeque, with time to hike and take in the incredible views of the
towers of the Paine. After you return to the hotel, the evening is
yours to spend as you wish. |

Day 6 Saturday, November 22
Breakfast
Seno Otway/Punta Arenas
After breakfast and checkout, we’ll visit the Penguin
Colony of Seno Otway, located 65 kilometers north of Punta Arenas on
Otway Inlet, along the northwest of the Brunswick Peninsula. The
Magellanic Penguins return annually to this spot between October and
March to lay eggs and raise their young. We’ll walk approximately
two kilometers to the middle of a natural reserve filled with
penguin burrows to witness up close the comic antics of these
delightful creatures. This afternoon, we will return to Punta Arenas
and spend the remainder of the day as we wish.

Day 7 Sunday, November 23
Breakfast
Eclipse flight through TOTALITY!
After
breakfast and a morning of preparation for our flight, we’ll
transfer to Punta Arenas Airport for our 12-hour flight through
totality. (See the eclipse-flight itinerary for details.) Upon our
return after the eclipse, we will transfer back to the hotel. |

Those not participating
in the eclipse flight can spend the day relaxing. Take a walking
tour of the town or arrange a day tour through the hotel. |

Day 8
Monday, November 24
Breakfast / Meals Aloft
Punta Arenas
Spend the morning as you wish before transferring to the
airport for an early-afternoon flight to Santiago and connections to
your home city or for add-on excursions to Machu Picchu, Easter
Island, the Atacama Desert, the Wine Regions of Chile, or to other
destinations in South America.
